The Biosystems Engineering & Soil Science programs are housed in modern facilities on UT's West Campus. We occupy or share three buildings locally, and have a presence at the West Tennessee Research & Education Center. In addition, we conduct research at a network of Research & Education Centers around the state. Four of these are outdoor facilities within 15 miles of campus that supplement classroom teaching.
The Biosystems Engineering Lab & Classroom Building Lab building (LAB) -- Contains classrooms, labs, graduate student offices and meeting facilities.  Several computer labs are available in this building for students.  Specialized laboratories are available for teaching and research activities in the areas of hydraulics, water quality analysis, power and machinery, environmental bioprocessing, food engineering, and electric power and processing.
Office building (OFC) -- Contains the main office, mailroom, many faculty offices, offices of Extension specialists, and some graduate student offices. The Biosystems Engineering Office Building
Plant Biotech Building (BIO) -- Additional faculty offices, graduate offices, research laboratories, and classrooms.
Ellington (ELL) -- Additional faculty offices, graduate offices, teaching laboratories, research laboratories, and classrooms.
West Tennessee Research & Education Center, Jackson (JCK) -- Faculty office and field research space.
Library resources are a very important part of our facilities. UT's state-of-the-art John C. Hodges Main Library is one of the most comprehensive facilities in the South. Current holding include more than 2,103,500 volumes and 16,629 serials publications. In addition, the Pendergrass Ag-Vet Library, only a few steps from BESS, has more than 100,000 volumes of material on agricultural and environmental topics.
